Budgeting
skills that
actually
stick
Most people learn budgeting once, forget it twice, and give up by the third month. Our sessions are structured around real spending patterns — not textbook theory — so the habits you build here carry over into everyday decisions.
Whether you prefer working through problems with a group or getting focused one-on-one time, there's a format that fits how you actually learn.
The services in detail
Each offering is designed around a specific type of learner and a specific kind of challenge — there's no one-size-fits-all here.
Group learning sessions
Six to twelve learners per cohort, meeting twice a week over four weeks. Each session covers one concrete area — tracking fixed costs, handling irregular income, building a buffer fund — with time for shared questions.
The group format works well if you learn better when you can hear how other people approach the same problems. Seeing that someone else also struggles with discretionary spending is often more useful than any worksheet.
Private one-on-one lessons
Sessions scheduled around your availability, focused entirely on your own financial picture. Your instructor reviews your actual numbers — income, recurring bills, savings targets — and builds the session around what you're dealing with right now.
Private lessons suit people with irregular income, complex household situations, or specific goals like clearing debt within a set timeframe. The pace is yours; nothing gets skipped and nothing gets rushed.
How sessions are structured
Each format follows its own logic — built around how people actually retain and apply financial habits over time.
Live online format
All sessions happen in real time via video — no pre-recorded content, no watching at 2x speed. You interact with the instructor and, in group sessions, with other learners throughout.
Sessions run 60–90 minutes eachPersonalised learning path
Before your first session, you complete a short intake covering your current habits, income type, and what you want to change. The instructor uses this to decide where to start and what to skip.
Intake takes about 10 minutesAccess across the country
Learners join from all over Ireland — from rural counties with limited local options to city areas where scheduling is the main barrier. The platform is built so location is never the reason you can't attend.
Available nationwide, no commute needed
Who teaches at Bifutay
Taught by people who work with money, not just talk about it
Fionnuala Regan has spent the past nine years working directly with households on debt restructuring and savings planning. She joined Bifutay because she wanted to reach people earlier — before the situation becomes a crisis — and online sessions made that possible across the whole country.
The instructors here don't use generic templates. They work from your actual figures, ask specific questions, and push back when a plan looks good on paper but won't survive contact with a real month.
